The "Orca" (Orcinus Orca) or Killer Whale, less commonly, Blackfish or Seawolf, is the largest species of the
oceanic dolphin family(Delphinidae). It is found in throughout
the world's oceans, from the cold Arctic and Antarctic regions to warm, tropical seas.
Why ORCA?
- It is known for its intelligence, referring to the intelligent solution we have for corrosion problems.
- It is a whale which symbolize green values referring to the environmental friendly solution we represent.
- It is aggressive, referring to our goal to get a reasonable share in the market.
History
In the mid 80´s Mr. Tom Bentsen started the marketing of self-adhesive films for mega-sized logos on ship sides.
After several years these logos were repaired or replaced and he noticed that the areas covered by the vinyl had no
corrosion compared to the rest of the ship.
On basis of this discovery he realized that this might be a new way to fight corrosion. Extensive research, development
and testing began, resulting in the ultimate solution for corrosion, the worldwide unique DNV certified topcoating
ORCA HT Offshore Film.
Present and Future
In the year 2008 ORCA Maritime AS Norway was taken over completely by the former German representative Mr. Manfred Haack
and his partner Mr. Michael Sens. Together with a worldwide network of ORCA representatives and by applying aggressive
pricing policies ORCA Maritime GmbH aims to discover the huge potential of customers in the Offshore Industry, the
worldwide tremendous number of storage tank farms as well as the booming windmill industry (tubes, rotor blades,
engine cases) and quite recently, even for cleanrooms in the pharmaceutical industry!
Because of the worldwide unique DNV certified ORCA Graphic Film the niche resources - logos and signs - are more
in demand than ever! Allowing ship-owners new possibilities to turn empty spaces on ships sides into money making
graphics / advertisings or just for a brilliant reputation or for personal needs! For example quite recently ORCA
Maritime did the world's largest marine wraps on 3 newbuildings (abt. 4.200 m² each) from Canadian BC Ferries at
FSG Shipyard in Flensburg/Germany - advertising for the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver 2010!
